Job summary

SpyCloud is seeking a Senior Data Scientist, Applied ML to design, build, and deploy models for critical cybersecurity use cases, including incident detection, fraud intelligence, and risk scoring. You will own the end-to-end model lifecycle and collaborate with engineering, product, and research teams to turn complex problems into scalable, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building and shipping models in production with hands-on data lifecycle ownership.
• Strong background in applied math (linear algebra, optimization, statistics) and machine learning.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging NLP for text classification, tagging, or entity extraction.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries: PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, XGBoost.
• Experience building or maintaining data/feature pipelines (Airflow, Spark, Pandas).
• Experience with model versioning and monitoring in production (MLflow, DVC).
• Experience deploying models into cloud environments or containerized services.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex problems into actionable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and deploy models using real-world structured and unstructured data for security features such as threat detection, alerting, and risk scoring.
• Build preprocessing and feature engineering pipelines for your models and own model monitoring and evaluation.
• Prototype new approaches and productionize existing research prototypes with reliability.
• Collaborate with software and data engineers to productionize models in cloud-native environments (AWS).
• Partner with product managers and domain experts to define success criteria and rapidly prototype MVPs.
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate model decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
