Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, is seeking a Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer to lead data-driven and physics-informed models for wheel and brake performance, structural/thermal design, and vibration mitigation. You’ll mentor engineers, standardize validation, and collaborate with design, reliability, and customer teams worldwide.

The role emphasizes advanced ML, PINNs, and hybrid modeling, with strong Python tooling and experience in engineering data interpretation. Onsite U.S.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years experience or Advanced Degree with 3+ years.
• Expertise in data analytics workflows and engineering data interpretation.
• Advanced knowledge of ML concepts with experience deploying models.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including dynamics and thermal behavior.

Responsibilities

• Drive development, training, and validation of data-driven and physics-informed ML models for wheel/brake performance and design.
• Define validation criteria and performance metrics for analytical and ML models across programs.
• Develop data curation, cleaning, integration, and preparation for analytics workflows.
• Mentor engineers on data analytics and ML methodologies.
• Collaborate with design, reliability, service engineering, and customer teams for data-driven recommendations.
• Create detailed engineering reports and present findings to stakeholders and customers.
