Job summary

Evolution USA is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to design, deploy, and scale AI-powered solutions in production across cross-functional teams. This is not a pure research role.

You'll own projects from discovery through delivery, work directly with end users, and help translate complex AI concepts into real-world outcomes. The role focuses on large language models, agentic systems, and governance while collaborating with customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

We're partnering with an innovative technology company working at the intersection of AI, data, and scientific innovation to hire a Senior Applied AI Engineer.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced AI practitioner who enjoys solving complex real-world problems, working directly with end users, and taking ideas from concept through production.

This is not a pure research role.

You'll be responsible for designing, building, deploying and evaluating AI-powered solutions that are used in highly technical environments, working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes. The work spans large language models, agentic systems, AI evaluation frameworks, data processing pipelines, and production AI applications.

The environment is highly collaborative, fast-moving and customer-focused. Engineers are trusted to own projects, engage directly with stakeholders, and play a key role in shaping both technical direction and business outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and deploying AI and machine learning solutions in production environments

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree (Masters or PhD preferred) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or another quantitative discipline
• Strong experience building and deploying production AI/ML systems
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, agentic workflows, AI orchestration frameworks or related technologies
• Experience evaluating AI systems, measuring performance and implementing guardrails
• Ability to operate independently and own complex technical initiatives
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work directly with customers and stakeholders
• A collaborative mindset and desire to work closely with other engineers
• Curiosity and the ability to quickly understand new technical or scientific domains
