Leidos is seeking a Senior Applied Aerodynamics Engineer in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on leading aerodynamic design trades, performance assessments, and high-fidelity characterizations for missile and aviation systems.

Requires a BS (ABET) with 8–12 years of aerospace aerodynamics experience or MS with 6–10 years, plus Python/Matlab expertise and strong communication skills. U.S. citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from ABET-accredited institution, 8–12 years experience or MS with 6–10 years experience.
• Proficiency in Python or Matlab.
• Experience leading aerodynamic designs, characterizations, and flight performance evaluations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with senior leadership briefing experience.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary design team.
• US citizen and ability to obtain DoD security clearance.
• Resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL for on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Lead aerodynamic design trade studies and performance assessments.
• Oversee testing activities and development of high-fidelity aerodynamic characterizations for flight vehicles.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver mission-critical aerospace solutions.
