Trusted Fraternal Life seeks an Applications Development Manager to lead the development, maintenance, and improvement of our software applications. The role provides technical leadership for the Applications Development team and establishes standards, processes, and governance to deliver scalable technology solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive software development and technology leadership experience.
• Hands-on software and database development with code/design reviews and mentoring.a0
• Strong experience with the Microsoft stack: C#, .NET, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, web tech, SQL Server.
• Experience establishing software development frameworks, governance, source control, CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience across the full software lifecycle: design, implementation, support, improvement.
• Experience configuring life policy administration systems and rule/workflow management.
• Proven success leading technical teams and driving organizational change.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience in life insurance/annuity or regulated industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of the Applications Development team with direction and accountability.
• Establish and oversee software development standards, governance, SDLC, source control, documentation, testing, deployment, release management and QA.
• Lead design and code reviews and technical decision making to align with requirements and standards.
• Manage configurations for the policy administration system, including versioning, documentation and testing.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines and development processes for reliable code movement.
• Provide leadership for application and database development, data integration, and data migration.
• Partner with business and tech teams to set priorities and deliver solutions.
• Prioritize, assign, track and deliver project work, support, conversions, and initiatives.
• Establish and monitor operational metrics for productivity, quality, capacity, accountability, and improvement.
• Develop staffing plans, budgets, and ensure necessary tools and support for delivery.
• Hire, develop, mentor and evaluate team members and foster a high-performing culture.
