Job summary

Capstone Energy+ seeks a Senior Applications Engineer to serve as the technical authority for the West Territory. You will own site assessments, respond to customer and EPC questions, and translate product capability into permit-ready documentation.

You will manage drawings, templates, and coordination with engineers to ensure proper sizing and compliance. The role requires 8–10 years in power generation or distributed energy, a engineering degree, and a PE license or PE-eligible status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field required; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or PE-eligible (EIT) with demonstrated intent to obtain, preferred
• 8–10 years of experience in power generation, distributed energy, or related field applications, with direct experience producing or reviewing engineering drawings and interfacing directly with EPC or consulting-engineering firms.
• Demonstrated track record of catching site/application issues before installation that would otherwise cause delays or service problems.

Responsibilities

• Site & Application Assessment during quoting: evaluate electrical interconnection, grounding/pad leveling, gas supply, and access.
• Technical resource in live meetings, answering questions on product capability and system fit.
• Prepare preliminary layouts and permit-ready documentation.
• Own permit packages and coordinate with AHJ on larger projects.
• Collaborate with EPCs, customers, and internal teams to improve site-selection standards and templates.
