Job summary

Great Plains Industries (GPI) in Wichita, KS, is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to act as the technical authority for FLOMEC flow meters and cloud-connected measurement solutions. You will lead complex customer applications, drive advanced integrations, and mentor engineers while supporting strategic sales opportunities and guiding product direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in applications engineering or related roles in industrial products.
• Proven experience as technical lead or escalation resource in customer-facing environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using CRM/ERP tools to document activities.
• Ability to master GPI, FLOMEC, and FLOMEC applications.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to handle shifting priorities.
• Self-motivated with ownership and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex customer applications and define optimal technical solutions.
• Lead technical strategy for OEM and enterprise accounts.
• Provide expert system-design consultation on feasibility and trade-offs.
• Troubleshoot flow meters and cloud-connected products.
• Support warranty evaluations with internal teams.
• Mentor technical staff and lead advanced training.
• Document activities using CRM and ERP systems.
• Represent GPI at trade shows and customer visits.
