Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in Roseville/San Jose area is seeking a Senior Engineer I- Applications to join the Data Center Solutions team.

You will contribute to enterprise storage product development, provide customer-facing technical support, and collaborate with Product Development, Validation, Marketing, and Sales to bring solutions to production. The role emphasizes firmware/embedded software skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and effective communication.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in CE/CSE/EE with 5–7.5 years of experience.
Strong firmware/embedded systems development and debug skills.
Experience in C and scripting languages (Java, TCL/TK, PERL, Python).

Responsibilities

Support, manage and resolve technical issues related to DCS hardware and firmware/software products.
Debug firmware, software and protocol level issues for enterprise storage devices.
Work with customers and cross functional teams through the product life-cycle from requirements gathering to post-production support.
Develop and maintain customer collateral such as Firmware User Manual, Quick Start Guide, Release Notes, Errata, Application Notes, etc.
Provide product training to customers and internal teams; demonstrate new products to customers and at industry events.
Travel within North America and internationally as needed to work at customer sites or attend meetings.
