Job summary

Bloom Energy seeks a Principal Application Engineer to lead complex technical sales activities and customer engagements for distributed generation solutions. You will develop requirements, create designs, and demonstrate Bloom’s capabilities to diverse customers across the U.S. and beyond.

The role reports to the Sr Manager, Applications Engineering and offers multi-site flexibility (San Jose, CA; Newark, DE; Houston, TX). A base salary is complemented by incentive and equity components.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university or college.
• Experience in customer-facing and technical support roles in power systems.
• Experience with power generation technologies and distributed generation concepts.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical sales support and expertise to customers to achieve sales objectives.
• Define customer requirements and establish product specifications for solutions.
• Support Bid and Proposal activities with technical input.
• Address customer objections and secure project parameters for approval.
• Provide technical feedback and influence engineering and product management.
• Outline scope of work for pre-sales with electrical, mechanical, and civil interfaces.
• Travel up to 30% to support sales objectives.
