Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking an Application Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI for a hybrid role with three to four days onsite at our Auburn Hills office. The position focuses on developing competitive technical solutions to customer requirements for custom automated equipment and leading quotes across multiple business units.

You will review specifications, render CAD concepts, and help prepare proposals while mentoring junior staff and supporting account managers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience leading successful projects.
• Experience in sales and/or customer interaction is preferred.
• Proficient in Applications Engineering processes and tools.
• Background in Body in White environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications to define the scope of work, costs, risk, and proposal content.
• Coordinate and execute large multi-business unit quotes.
• Develop conceptual CAD solutions and response packages for customer problems.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and support account managers in proposal development.
• Attend kickoff meetings and maintain CRM data for projects.
