Job summary
JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, seeks an Applications Engineer III in Nashville to translate customer needs into technical, cost-effective automation concepts. You will own concept development, cost estimation, and proposal creation in response to RFPs while supporting Account Managers and cross-functional teams.
Ideal candidates have 5+ years in automation, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/Creo/CATIA/Visual Components), and robust communication abilities to engage customers and internal
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automation, machinery, or related technical industries.
- Strong preference for Life Sciences experience.
- Hands-on experience in applications engineering, quoting, and customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Understand customer specifications, requirements, and pain points.
- Interact with customers during the definition of machine requirements and proposals.
- Generate conceptual automation solutions using CAD tools for non-standard needs.
- Develop cost estimates, risk assessments, cycle times and flow diagrams for proposals.
- Prepare and participate in internal/external quote reviews with clear costs and timelines.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide cross-functional support on projects.
