Job summary

Credence Management Solutions, LLC seeks a Senior Applications Engineer to support the DAAS AI/ML program for the Defense Logistics Agency. You will design front-end interfaces, dashboards, and data visualizations, and lead software development with rigorous specifications and CASE tools.

Strong UI/UX and React/Next.js skills are essential. You will mentor teams, estimate costs, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable enterprise solutions.

Qualifications

• US citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance
• BA/BS in a technical discipline from an accredited university
• At least ten (10) years of applicable experience in applications engineering, software development, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience analyzing complex system requirements and designing software tools and subsystems
• Experience managing software development efforts using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other accepted design techniques and CASE tools
• Demonstrated experience developing and deploying machine learning models in operational or production environments
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design and front-end development, with a portfolio demonstrating measurable impact on user experience
• Proven track record of improving adoption or usability on complex enterprise or government applications
• Expert-level proficiency in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and HTML/CSS with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility
• Experience with data visualization libraries (D3.js, Chart.js, Recharts) and UX research methods
• Proficiency with Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and Sonatype Nexus for artifact management and secure software supply chain practices

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and studying complex system requirements to inform software design and implementation decisions
• Designing software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and managing their implementation
• Managing software development and support using formal specifications and CASE tools
• Estimating software development costs and schedules and communicating estimates and risks
• Reviewing existing programs and refining, reducing operating time, and improving techniques
• Supervising software configuration management across the development lifecycle
• Developing machine learning models supporting use cases including: anomalies, inventory, supply chain, audit readiness, content intelligence, AIOps, fraud detection, entity resolution, recommendations, generative AI
• Architecting and building performant UI using React/Next.js, HTML5, CSS3
• Auditing applications to identify adoption barriers and translate insights into improvements
• Designing dashboards and data visualization layers (D3.js, Chart.js) surfacing AI/ML outputs and metrics
• Developing reusable component libraries and design systems
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions
• Documenting and communicating results
