Job summary

Citi in Rutherford, New Jersey, is seeking an Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst to help establish and implement new or revised application systems. You will contribute to systems analysis, programming, and development lifecycle across teams.

The role requires deep experience in Java/Python, Spring, microservices, ReactJS, Big Data, and CI/CD with containerized apps (Docker/Kubernetes/AWS). Strong communication and risk-aware mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Senior Java/Java EE or Python Developer with end-to-end software delivery.
• 5+ years with Spring Ecosystem to design scalable microservices.
• 5+ years in relational and NoSQL databases.
• 3+ years in ReactJS UI/UX development for responsive frontend solutions.
• 3+ years in data processing on Big Data platforms (Spark/Hadoop).
• 3+ years implementing enterprise messaging (JMS, Tibco, Kafka).
• 1+ year using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Devin AI).
• Strong data lineage, data flow mapping, and metadata management experience.
• Experience with containerized apps (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, OpenShift) and CI/CD (Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, Maven/Gradle).
• Experience with Airflow; BI tools (Tableau/Cognos) knowledge is a plus.
• Domain knowledge in Credit Risk or regulatory reporting is a strong plus.
• Able to work under pressure with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Participate in establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs.
• Monitor, control, and support all phases of development lifecycle from analysis to implementation.
• Apply in-depth knowledge to analyze problems, evaluate processes, and ensure data integrity.
• Recommend and implement security measures in post-implementation.
• Consult with users and technology groups; provide advanced programming solutions.
• Define operating standards and act as SME to stakeholders and team members.
• Operate with limited supervision and exercise independent judgment and autonomy.
• Assess risk in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and Citigroup policies.
