Job summary

RBC Bearings Incorporated, formerly part of Sargent Aerospace & Defense, seeks an Applications/Design Engineer III to design, develop, and test high-performance bearing products for aerospace applications. You will collaborate with customers, sales, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

The role emphasizes GD&T, test planning, and ongoing improvement in a fast-paced environment, with expected travel and close interaction with manufacturing and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience or Associate degree with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience in component design layout, modeling, detail design and analyses.
• US Person status is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test new and existing bearing products.
• Convert customer requirements into bearing designs and proposals.
• Lead design reviews and supervise drafters and designers.
• Perform stress, FEA, fatigue analyses and other engineering evaluations.
• Manage qualification test programs and documentation to meet customer needs.
• Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis in design processes.
• Travel up to 25% for customer visits and field support.
