Job summary

Houston Community College (HCC) is seeking an experienced IT professional to perform complex computer information systems analysis and technical application design and development work.

The role involves analyzing procedures for efficiency, designing and implementing improvements, applying project management methodologies, and coordinating with IT staff and external resources to deliver effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or Engineering is required.
• 8 years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 5 years experience working with computer information systems is required.
• Experience with PeopleSoft version 9.2 PUMxx for Finance/HR/Student Administration; PeopleCode, PeopleTools; SQR and SQL; BI/Crystal Reporting; Oracle/LDAP/Solaris preferred.
• Proficiency in HTML, SQL, XML and Oracle with emphasis on web-related software system design and support.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing procedures for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Design, code, and implement new or revised methods to meet departmental needs.
• Apply Application Development Project Management methodologies to all projects.
• Prepare charts, diagrams and tables depicting cost, tasks and schedule.
• Coordinate with IT personnel, consultants and external resources for resource utilization.
• Lead projects through planning, development, testing and implementation.
