Job description

Overview

Developer, Web Application role at Inside Higher Ed. Location: Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews, analyzes and modifies applications and systems to include coding, testing, debugging and documenting software and programs.
  • Develop codes for interactive data driven web applications.
  • Develop interfaces to back-end databases.
  • Troubleshoot and debug pre-production web applications.
  • Maintain and upgrade applications.
  • Troubleshoot web server, setup and control form issues in system which affects web applications.
  • Assist to analyze, design and test new and/or existing systems.
  • Compile and write documentation to describe program development and revisions.
  • Assist in determining user requirements for new and modified programs and/or systems.
  • Keep current with the latest technology; regularly attend technical training in order to maintain technical expertise.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or 60 hours of college credit coursework in a related field required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 4 years directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of required degree
  • 4 years experience programming or application development in a web-based environment, relational databases and query writing, and with cross platform language required
  • Experience programming and debugging, and operating systems is preferred
Licensing & Certification

Working Conditions

General office.
