CVS Health is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer - Threat Research to secure modern healthcare software across cloud and enterprise environments. You will blend application security engineering, threat research, and secure development practices to mitigate risks and strengthen defenses.

The role emphasizes embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle, conducting assessments, researching threats, and mentoring teams to improve the organization’s overall security

Qualifications

• 7+ years in application security or related roles.
• 5+ years with programming languages listed (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• 3+ years securing cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• 3+ years with container tech (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with IaC or Security as Code practices.
• Experience performing security assessments and threat modeling.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support application security standards and best practices.
• Partner with engineering teams to integrate security into SDLC processes.
• Promote secure coding and remediate findings.
• Contribute to security automation to improve efficiency and scale.
• Research emerging threats and perform threat modeling and analysis.
• Design and manage security controls across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Collaborate with engineers and security stakeholders and communicate findings.
