Job summary

CDW is seeking a Principal Application Security Engineer to lead secure engineering practices across enterprise applications, APIs, and delivery pipelines. You will influence design decisions, drive security controls in CI/CD, and partner across engineering, DevOps, and platform teams to reduce risk while enabling fast delivery.

You will guide remediation, create scalable security patterns, and advance AI-secured development with practical guardrails and references.

Qualifications

10+ years of Application Security Engineering.
Secure architecture, design, and threat modeling.
Background in software engineering or architecture.
Strong authn/authz, API security, secrets management.
Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
Investigate complex technical problems with root-cause analysis.
Excellent communication and stakeholder influence.
Cloud-native security in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Software supply chain security experience.
Hands-on AI security experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead high-impact secure code reviews, threat models, and secure design assessments for applications and APIs.
Drive the design and integration of application security controls across CI/CD platforms.
Identify control gaps and remediation through automation and platform improvements.
Define secure coding standards, reference architectures, and playbooks at scale.
Partner with engineering teams to embed security into software delivery.
Advance AI-enabled development security with guardrails and responsible use.
Provide API security expertise across authentication, authorization, and monitoring.
