Job summary

Jobgether SRL is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer to own and advance the organization's application security program in a remote US setting. You will partner with engineering and infra teams to integrate secure practices across development and delivery workflows.

You will lead threat detection, vulnerability management, testing, incident response, and tooling, mentoring engineers while navigating complex security challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience in application security and security engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one language (Ruby, Java, Python, C#, or Node.js).
• Hands-on experience managing SIEM platforms and reducing alert noise.
• Deep knowledge of cloud environments, containers, and automated container vulnerability management.
• Experience with SAST/DAST/IAST and manual validation of findings.
• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10, MITRE Top 25, and secure software development practices.
• Ability to mentor and influence teams, and communicate clearly in a remote-first setting.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve the organization’s SIEM with tuning and alert development.
• Conduct security architecture, code, and infrastructure reviews to identify risks.
• Perform targeted penetration testing of web and mobile apps.
• Build and optimize vulnerability management and CI/CD security integration.
• Promote secure coding practices and remediation prioritization with engineering teams.
• Develop security frameworks, tooling, and engineering standards.
• Support incident response and forensics with technical insights.
• Monitor threats and translate findings into actionable guidance for teams.
• Lead security awareness and training initiatives for engineers.
• Operate independently with strong stakeholder alignment.
