Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer in Houston, TX to join a fast-growing security organization. You will deploy and tune SAST/DAST/IAST, interpret results, and drive remediation for high-risk findings while collaborating with engineering teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines.

You will perform threat modeling, build security metrics with stakeholders, and advance tooling to automate security across modern applications. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Application Security experience in modern software development (>=4 years).
• Deep experience deploying, tuning, and interpreting SAST/DAST; IAST a plus.
• Demonstrated threat modeling experience with actionable security requirements.
• Experience integrating security testing into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud security, APIs, authentication/authorization, secrets management, and web vulnerabilities.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt).
• Ability to prioritize risk and drive remediation while enabling product delivery.
• Strong communication and influence skills across engineers and leadership.
• Collaborative, solution-oriented approach to improve security without slowing delivery.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a bleeding-edge security organization enabling secure, reliable applications.
• Deploy and tune code scanning solutions (SAST, DAST, IAST).
• Interpret results to focus remediation on highest-risk vulnerabilities.
• Perform threat modeling to identify potential threat vectors in the stack.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish metrics for application security.
• Develop tools to automate security gains and streamline engineering workflows.
• Ensure key systems' security processes are documented and archived.
