Discord is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Application Security to design and implement secure, full-stack security solutions that protect hundreds of millions of users. You will lead authentication and session security work, improve security services, and collaborate with product teams to deploy stronger user-account protections.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years securing production apps and hands-on experience with authentication, WebAuthn, MFA, and guardrails, plus cloud-based work

Qualifications

5+ years of experience securing production applications.
3+ years of experience programming in Python, Go, Java, or Rust.
Hands-on experience shipping production software with security features or guardrails.
Experience with authentication and account security (WebAuthn, MFA, session management).
Experience leading security projects in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Join an engineering team designing security solutions for hundreds of millions of users.
Lead full-stack work to strengthen session security and authentication.
Improve and maintain security-critical authentication services.
Partner with Product teams to drive adoption of stronger authentication tools.
Identify and design solutions for emerging threats to user account security.
