Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to strengthen our Information Security team. You will drive the implementation and operation of AST/ASPM tooling, integrate security testing into CI/CD pipelines, and support development teams across cloud environments.

You will demonstrate broad expertise in application security, software development, containerization, and secure coding practices, while coaching junior engineers and communicating risks to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Significant experience in application security and software development.
Experience implementing, administering, and supporting SAST/DAST/IAST/SCA tooling.
Strong knowledge of secure coding across Java, Node.js, and other languages; experience in secure SDLC.
Experience integrating security testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain AST tools (SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA) to identify vulnerabilities.
Implement and maintain ASPM tools to centralize findings and integrate into development processes.
Provide first-line support for users, resolve false positives, and guide remediation.
Integrate security tooling with CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
Develop detailed reports on findings and remediation efforts.
Demonstrate proficiency across security, software development, containers, and cloud environments.
Communicate risks and promote secure development practices to teams and management.
