Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Junior Application Security Engineer to strengthen our Information Security team. You will implement and manage AST tools across the software lifecycle, integrate security findings into CI/CD pipelines, and provide remediation guidance to development teams.

Candidates should have a strong background in application security and software development, with knowledge of OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices, and experience coaching junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years’ experience or Master’s Degree with 4+ years’ experience.
• Experience in application security and software development.
• Experience implementing, administering, and supporting AST/DAST/IAST/SCA.
• Knowledge of secure coding across languages (esp. Java, Node.js).
• Experience integrating security testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, CWE and mitigations.
• Experience coaching and supporting junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain AST tools (SAST/DAST/IAST/SCA).
• Implement and maintain ASPM tools to centralize findings.
• First-line support for users on false positives and remediation guidance.
• Integrate security tooling with CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop detailed security findings reports and remediation plans.
• Demonstrate proficiency across security, development, containers, and cloud.
• Communicate risks and promote secure development practices.
