Job summary
GE Vernova in the United States is seeking an Application Engineer for the Power Conversion portfolio. You will develop technical solutions for large MV VFD/SFC/STATCOM systems up to 80MW and related eBOPs, evaluate customer RFPs, prepare detailed proposals, and sign off on the technical approach with the client.
This role requires at least 5 years in a major Power Conversion OEM, a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, and readiness to travel up to 30%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years technical experience with a major Power Conversion OEM on large water-cooled VFD/SFC/STATCOM applications
- Willingness to travel domestically within country and abroad up to 30% of time
Responsibilities
- Develop technical solutions for MV VFD/SFC/STATCOM and related eBOPs up to 80MW and 100MVA+
- Evaluate customer RFP specifications, prepare detailed technical proposals and obtain sign-off
- Perform sizing calculations for MV VFD/SFC/STATCOM and Converter transformers
- Prepare RFQ specifications for equipment and participate in bid evaluation and costing with sourcing
