Rain Bird Corporation is seeking a Senior Application Engineer for Pumps & Filtration to directly support field sales with pump stations, respond to product inquiries and quotations, and uncover customer needs to provide effective solutions. This role collaborates with Plant Manufacturing, Engineering, Materials, Production and regional Golf & Landscape sales teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or technical field preferred.
• 5–8+ years experience with electro-mechanical rotating equipment.
• Ability to learn and use CRM software; programming/configuration a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 8–10% as needed for technical support and relationship building.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Provide high system complexity instruction to AEs and senior team members.
• Monitor inquiries and prioritize responses within 24 hours.
• Communicate with sales personnel and specifiers to ensure timely service.
• Collect information to prepare accurate pump station proposals.
• Create detailed sales proposals and submittal packages.
• Track sales through the full sales cycle and process orders.
• Offer technical assistance to designers, consultants and contractors.
• Support development and maintenance of pump quote tools and sales tools.
• Strengthen relationships with Golf and Landscape sales teams.

Overview

The Senior Application Engineer for Pumps & Filtration directly supports field sales efforts to sell standard and custom Rain Bird pump stations. The primary responsibility is to respond promptly to requests for product information and quotations. The ability to uncover customer needs and provide appropriate solutions is critical to success. This position collaborates closely with Plant Manufacturing, Engineering, Materials, Production and Service personnel as well as Rain Bird regional Golf and Landscape SBU sales teams to deliver the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Be an active and contributing senior member of the Applications Engineering Team providing high system complexity instruction to Associate AE’s and AE’s as required.
• Monitor incoming inquiries and prioritize responses to all requests with 24 hours of receipt.
• Proactively communicating via e-mail and phone with direct and distributor sales personnel and specifiers to ensure timely, professional service.
• Collect all information to provide accurate proposals for new pump station opportunities.
• Create detailed sales proposals within a defined SLA.
• Create full submittal packages to support consultant needs.
• Track and manage sales through the entire sales cycle.
• Perform accurate order processing based on quotation / customer needs.
• Provide relationship management and technical assistance to designers, consultants and contractors.
• Assist development, maintenance and training of pump quote tools and sales tools.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with Golf and Landscape salespeople.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Business or technical degree preferred)
• Advanced experience with electro-mechanical rotating equipment (5-8 years or more)
• Ability to learn and use CRM software (programming / configuration abilities are a plus)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
• Work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Positive mental attitude with ability to positively influence others
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to travel as required (up to 8-10%) to support technical needs and relationships
• Excellent work ethic
• High degree of organization

• Irrigation industry experience and understanding of Distribution models
