Job summary

ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors seeks a senior engineer to identify future automotive LED applications and translate requirements for new products. You will interface between customer light experts and internal development, and design system reference designs including digital electronics, hardware and software.

The role drives key application development projects, coordinates with engineering and product teams, and requires travel to customers and ams OSRAM locations worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience with optoelectronic components and systems.
• Experience with electronics, embedded systems, microcontrollers, software, optics, and thermal management.
• Excellent communication and organization, proactive communication across NA and global locations.
• Strong project management, self-starter, able to work independently and drive results.
• Willingness to travel to customers and ams OSRAM locations worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Identify future applications and translate requirements for new automotive LED products.
• Interface between customer light experts and internal development teams.
• Design system reference designs including digital electronics, hardware and software.
• Drive key application development projects and coordinate with engineering and product teams.
• Perform technical market analysis and provide training to distribution and Field Application Engineers.

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

• Identifying future applications and translating the requirements profile for new automotive LED products
• Interface between the light experts at customer and internals development departments
• Design of system reference designs including digital electronics, hardware and software
• Responsible to drive key application development projects for AM future business
  • Interface to segment engineering and product development. Interface to CTO org as required.
• Technical Market analysis
• Technical training for distribution and Field Application engineering

• Minimum B.S, M.S, in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5+ years’ experience with optoelectronic components and systems
• Experience with Electronics, embedded systems, microcontrollers, software, optics, and thermal management
• Practical experience with technical market analysis and technical system specification
• Excellent communication and organization, proactive communication is necessary across locations in NA and global
• Strong project management skills, Self-starter, able to solve complex problems, ability to work independently and driven for results
• Very strong customer orientation and willing to travel to customers and other ams OSRAM locations domestic and worldwide
