Job summary

Henkel's Adhesive Technologies unit seeks a technically skilled specialist to advise customers, demonstrate products, and troubleshoot on site in Michigan. You’ll lead lab testing, develop application solutions, and mentor field engineers while collaborating with sales, marketing and R&D teams.

The role requires a chemistry or materials science degree and 2–5 years in automotive adhesives or related materials, with strong communication and problem solving.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a science field (Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Materials Science) and relevant experience.
• 2–5 years in automotive adhesives, tapes or related materials.
• Experience with laboratory testing, application development, product qualification, reliability testing, or customer technical support.
• Ability to design experiments, analyze data, troubleshoot issues and develop practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide product recommendations, customized applications, demonstrations and troubleshooting for customers.
• Consult customers on value-generating solutions for their use cases.
• Perform technical visits (meetings, audits, demos, troubleshooting) with CRM and LIM documentation.
• Collaborate with application equipment teams to improve adhesive-related processes.
• Supervise laboratory work and report technical results to customers.
• Deliver product applications training and coach field sales and customers.

What you´ll do

• Responsible for product recommendations, customized products applications, new product demonstrations and troubleshooting for customers
• Consult customers on solutions generating value for their use cases
• Perform technical visits (meetings, audits, demonstrations, troubleshooting, etc.) for customers with documentation in the CRM tool and the LIM system
• Work with application equipment to provide solutions to enhance customer adhesive related processes
• May supervise the laboratory work (incl. prioritization) for samples coming from customers, and report technical results to customers
• Responsible for products application / technical training and coaching of field sales forces and customers
• Responsible for directly communicating with sales, marketing, PD, Innovation, members of TCS field team or project team members
• Promote internal business unit innovation and best learnings across accounts

What makes you a good fit

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or a science field
• 2-5 years of experience in automotives adhesive, tapes and other materials
• Experience with laboratory testing, application development, product qualification, reliability testing, or customer technical support
• Ability to design experiments, analyze technical data, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop practical solutions
• Experience translating customer and market requirements into material, product, or application development programs is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead adhesive testing, process validation, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving
• Strong communication skills, ability to function in customer facing roles
• Experience working cross-functionally within an organization (Sales, Business Development Managers, Product Development, Marketing)
• Ability to act as a leader and ability to influence, organize, coordinate and guide others
• Demonstrated mentorship skills in guiding, training, and teaching application engineers, technicians and interns
• This is an onsite role. Selected candidate will be in the office 5 days per week unless traveling on business or taking paid time off

The salary rangefor this role is $80,000.00 and $95,000.00. This range represents the good‑faith minimumand maximum wages the Company reasonably expects to offer for this role at thetime of posting. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligiblefor incentive pay or other forms of compensation, as applicable. TheCompany also offers a comprehensive benefits package as described above. Actualcompensation will be based on factors such as the candidate’s skills,experience, education, training, and work location.
