Location: Houston, TX (onsite 4 days per week, 1 day remote) | Type: Direct hire, full-time | Experience: 5+ years | Pay: $110,000-$125,000
You'll be a primary builder on a new Content Services Platform focused on workflow automation, document management, and robotic process automation across the company. This role sits on a small, high-trust application development team and reports into the VP of Data & Applications.
The work is hands-on. You'll write the code, wire up integrations, and help shape how the platform fits with the rest of the application landscape. Alongside that, you'll support and improve the systems used by Finance, HR, Asset Management, Client Experience, Leasing, Legal, and Construction & Design.
This is not a narrow-ticket environment. You'll work directly with business stakeholders, figure out what they actually need, and build solutions that hold up in production. You'll have real ownership of the features and integrations you deliver, with a senior lead and VP there to pressure-test the approach when needed.
Build and support a new Content Services Platform spanning workflow automation, document management, and RPA
Write, test, and ship production code across the corporate application portfolio
Implement, enhance, and maintain custom, SaaS, and COTS applications supporting Finance, HR, Asset Management, Client Experience, Leasing, Legal, and Construction & Design
Partner with the data and digital services team on upstream and downstream integrations with the enterprise data platform and digital experience platform
Write and tune SQL, then maintain the RDBMS databases that support these applications in production
Support AI and machine learning prediction initiatives requested by business stakeholders
Participate in code review and help maintain standards for testing, documentation, and release quality
Troubleshoot production issues and work directly with business users to resolve them
5+ years building and supporting web-based applications in a midsize, multi-department organization
Hands-on experience with Node.js, React, and Python
Experience with a BPMN workflow engine, ideally Camunda, and an RPA platform, ideally UiPath
Strong SQL skills and experience maintaining SQL Server or Oracle databases
Exposure to content services platforms covering workflow automation, document management, and RPA
Working knowledge of the broader Microsoft stack, including Power Automate, O365, Teams, SharePoint, and Power BI
Experience delivering work through Agile and standard SDLC practices
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
Experience in commercial real estate or property management
Background in REST-based microservices and API-first architecture
Exposure to AI and machine learning integration in enterprise applications
Mobile application experience across iOS and Android
You'll help build a platform that touches every department in the company, on a team small enough that your work is visible and close to the business. There is also a clear path to broader technical ownership as the platform matures.
This role fits someone who likes seeing a problem all the way through, not just their slice of it. You should be comfortable sitting with a Leasing manager to understand a workflow in the morning, then debugging a deployment in the afternoon.
The right person asks good questions, writes clean code, and can explain what they built to people who don't write code.
