Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus relevant experience.
• 10+ years in software eng., architecture, or platform engineering.
• Experience leading architecture for distributed systems and cloud-native platforms.
• Hands-on engineering background guiding service design, API contracts, and deployment.
• Deep domain-driven design and reusable platform patterns.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and translate strategy into direction.
• Experience designing microservices/event-driven systems in the cloud (Azure preferred).
• Strong API/data architecture judgment (REST, OpenAPI, data isolation, auditability).
• Mentoring senior engineers/architects.
• Healthcare/pharma/regulatory platform experience is a plus.
• Enterprise architecture experience is a plus.
• Excellent written communication.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture direction for major platform capabilities and cross-domain initiatives.
• Lead decisions for service decomposition, API ecosystems, event-driven workflows, and vendor integrations.
• Partner with engineering, product, security, and operations to align architecture with strategy.
• Drive build-vs-buy and modernization decisions to improve speed, reliability, and maintainability.
• Stay hands-on to review designs, code, and incidents and help teams negotiate technical decisions.
• Establish architecture standards and review practices for design quality and security.
• Resolve high-impact risks and dependencies across teams.
• Create reusable architecture frameworks and AI-enabled guidance for consistency.
• Establish patterns for multi-tenant workflows and data boundaries across the platform.
• Mentor engineers and leaders to raise architectural judgment and execution quality.
• Document decisions and develop patterns for AI tool usage and developer operations.
