Job summary

Huntington National Bank is seeking an experienced Application Architect for the Commercial Loan Servicing platform. You will drive target architecture, modernization, and data governance across systems, collaborating with business and technology teams to meet regulatory and enterprise standards.

You will design scalable, secure solutions, mentor staff, and guide API development, integration patterns, and architectural decisions to support business goals and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, business, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in solution architecture or technology leadership in financial services.
• Experience with cloud platforms and architecture governance in regulated, agile environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, data platforms, and modern app architecture.
• Experience with SQL and application integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the application roadmap, including technology direction and modernization initiatives.
• Develop solution approaches, architecture recommendations, and technical roadmaps.
• Align architecture with enterprise standards, security requirements, and business objectives.
• Provide high-level estimates and assess solution complexity for new initiatives.
• Guide teams on application design, integration patterns, API development, and best practices.
• Lead architecture reviews and support key technical decisions.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with standards.
• Communicate technical concepts to business and technical stakeholders.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and integration artifacts.
• Document technical debt, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Promote architecture standards and documentation practices.
• Mentor developers and cross-functional teams.
• Lead discussions with business, product, infrastructure, and vendor teams.
