Job summary

Huntington Bancshares, Inc. seeks an experienced Application Architect – Commercial Loan Servicing to drive architecture, strategy, and modernization of the commercial loan servicing platform.

You will design scalable, secure solutions, ensure data governance, and align with enterprise and regulatory needs. The role requires strong banking domain knowledge and the ability to guide architectural decisions that support business goals and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, business, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 7+ years of experience in solution architecture, technology strategy, IT transformation, or financial services technology leadership.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience implementing architecture governance practices in regulated, agile, product-centric, or scaled delivery environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, integration patterns, data platforms, resiliency, modern app architecture, and responsible AI governance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the application roadmap, including technology direction and modernization initiatives.
• Develop solution approaches, architecture recommendations, and technical roadmaps.
• Align application architecture with enterprise standards, security requirements, and business objectives.
• Provide high-level estimates and assess solution complexity for new initiatives.
• Guide teams on application design, integration patterns, API development, and best practices.
• Lead architecture reviews and support key technical decisions.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with standards.
• Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, documentation, and integration artifacts.
• Document technical debt, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Promote architecture standards and documentation best practices.
• Mentor developers and teams.
• Lead cross-functional discussions to resolve challenges and dependencies.
• Partner with business, product, infrastructure, and vendor teams to deliver solutions.
• Support planning, implementation, and continuous improvement across applications.
