Job summary

Fiserv is seeking a Senior Application Analyst - Mainframe to join our technology team in Colorado. You will support core enterprise mainframe applications, ensuring reliability, performance, and compliance in a fast-paced SLA-driven environment.

You will modify and test COBOL/JCL/DB2-based systems, review designs, and implement high-priority fixes. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Hands‑on IBM Mainframe (z/OS) experience.
• Proficiency with COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
• Experience deploying fixes in SLA-driven production environments.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience in creating technical documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Job Title

Senior Application Analyst - Mainframe

About your role:

You will join a technology team responsible for supporting enterprise mainframe applications that power Fiserv's core financial services platforms. In this role, you will apply deep technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills to ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance in a fast-paced, SLA-driven production environment.

What you'll do:

• Modify, test, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL (DB2), and CICS in an IBM z/OS environment.
• Review application designs and source code to assist with testing, debugging, and production readiness.
• Code and test high-priority and critical changes in support of business and operational requirements.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of mainframe applications to maintain stability and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including root cause analysis and defect correction.
• Collaborate with remote and cross-functional team members to deliver reliable application support.
• Provide regular project and task status updates to project managers and related stakeholders.
• Create and maintain technical and operational documentation to support ongoing application maintenance.

Experience you'll need to have:

Experience that would be great to have:

• DB2 utilities, IDCAMS, SyncSort, File‑Master, CICS.
• FTP / NDM file transmission.
• REXX, Endevor, Clarity, Jira.
• Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint.

How you'll work:

• On‑call rotational support.
• Use of Computer and audio equipment required.
• Per contractual obligations, must be a US citizen or US Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain and maintain an extended background check.

Salary Range

• $90,000.00 - $158,400.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.

For incentive-eligible associates, the successful candidate is eligible for an annual incentive opportunity which may be delivered as a mix of cash bonus and equity awards in the Company's sole discretion.
