Job summary

Sweet Apparel Inc. in New York, NY, is seeking a Sr. Production Coordinator to lead apparel development in our sweater division.

This on-site role in Midtown Manhattan requires a detail-oriented, technically skilled professional to manage calendars, POs, and production status across global factories. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in apparel production, oversees overseas manufacturing, negotiates costs, and ensures compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience in apparel/fashion/textile.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Fashion Merchandising, SCM, or Business.
• Experience managing overseas production.
• Experience with wholesale and off-price channels.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail under deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full production calendar aligned with seasonal buy plans and customer delivery windows.
• Issue, track, and follow up on purchase orders through production.
• Monitor WIP and flag at-risk orders.
• Coordinate fabric, trim, and material sourcing timelines with factories to avoid delays.
• Serve as liaison with overseas factories on status, capacity planning, and issues.
• Negotiate production costs, minimums, and lead times.
• Ensure factories adhere to compliance, labor, and quality standards.
• Oversee quality control at key milestones and resolve defects with factories.
• Manage resolution of quality issues, including negotiatng chargebacks or debits with factories.
• Ensure production complies with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with logistics to ensure timely container bookings and on-time delivery to distribution centers and retailers.
• Track past-due and at-risk shipments, escalating issues and driving resolution.
• Reconcile production data against shipping and invoicing records to confirm accuracy.
• Prepare and present regular production status reports, KPIs, and past-due analyses to leadership.
• Support financial reporting with accurate production cost and timeline data.
