Job summary

Siegelman Stable in New York is seeking a Senior Apparel Designer to lead the full design lifecycle from concept through production handoff, delivering graphic-intensive ready-to-wear with a sports-inspired aesthetic.

You will collaborate with the CCO and Senior Technical Design Director to translate creative direction into cohesive seasonal collections and ensure on-time delivery while upholding brand standards.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ yrs in contemporary apparel design for men’s and women’s ready-to-wear.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic-driven design and sophisticated aesthetic sensibility.
• Comprehensive understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and finishes (knit and woven).
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
• Exceptional project, time management, and accountability.
• Ability to operate autonomously in a small-team environment with initiative.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end design lifecycle from trend research to production handoff.
• Translate trend insights into season direction and presentations.
• Design and direct seasonal graphic artwork, typography, and placement across silhouettes.
• Provide art direction for external freelance designers and manage briefs and timelines.
• Create technical sketches, CAD drawings, and production-ready art files.
• Source and select fabrics, trims, labels, and packaging components.
• Establish seasonal color palettes and oversee color management and approvals.
• Formulate detailed tech packs and collaborate on BOMs and construction specs.
• Participate in fit reviews and document revisions with factory feedback.
• Track sample progress to align with brand calendar and launches.
• Maintain communication with mills, vendors, and factories.
