Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to join our Blacksburg, VA team and help secure complex software across the development lifecycle.

You will deploy and tune SAST/DAST/IAST, perform threat modeling, and drive security into CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to remediate high‑risk findings and strengthen our cloud and API security. This role requires 4+ years of hands-on experience, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset to

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Application Security experience in a modern software development environment (≥4 years).
• Deep experience deploying, tuning, and interpreting SAST/DAST; IAST a plus.
• Experience threat modeling and translating findings into security requirements.
• Experience integrating security testing into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
• Working knowledge of AWS/cloud security, APIs, authentication/authorization, secrets management, and common web vulnerabilities.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt).
• Ability to prioritize security risk and drive timely remediation.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with engineers and stakeholders.
• Collaborative and solution-oriented, with trust-building across dev teams.

Responsibilities

• Join a security team enabling secure, reliable applications and products.
• Deploy and tune code scanning solutions (SAST, DAST, IAST).
• Interpret scanning results to focus remediation on high-risk issues.
• Perform threat modeling to identify attack vectors.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to metrics showing security proficiency.
• Develop tools to improve security via automation for faster gains.
• Document and archive processes for key systems.
