Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to enable secure, reliable software delivery across Austin-based teams. You will deploy and tune SAST, DAST, and IAST tools, interpret findings, and drive remediation of high-risk vulnerabilities while collaborating with engineering leaders to define meaningful security metrics.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the US for any employer.
• 4+ years of hands-on Application Security in modern software development.
• Deep experience deploying, tuning, and interpreting SAST and DAST tools; IAST a plus.
• Experience conducting threat modeling and translating findings into practical security requirements.
• Experience integrating security testing and controls into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
• Knowledge of AWS/cloud security, APIs, authentication/authorization, secrets management, and common web vulnerabilities.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt.
• Ability to prioritize true security risk, reduce scanner noise, and drive timely remediation.
• Strong communication and influence skills with engineers and leaders.
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to improve security without slowing product delivery.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a bleeding-edge security organization enabling secure and reliable applications and products.
• Deploy and tune code scanning solutions (SAST, DAST, IAST).
• Interpret code scanning results to focus remediation on highest-risk vulnerabilities.
• Perform threat modeling of applications to identify threat vectors.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish metrics showing application security proficiency across engineering teams.
• Steer development of tools to improve security through automation for faster security gains.
• Document and maintain processes for key systems.
