Job summary

0x is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to expand the API Products team. You will own projects from concept to production, shaping new APIs and improving existing ones while collaborating with product teams and top customers.

This is a hands-on IC role with global scope, including remote work options and EU time zones. The role emphasizes ownership, architecture, and delivering fast, reliable APIs across multiple chains.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience, including DeFi exposure.
• Senior/Lead Engineer with a track record of ownership of complex projects end to end.
• Built and maintained developer-facing APIs.
• Deep onchain knowledge, especially EVM (gas, calldata, contracts, approvals).
• Strong system design experience for production-scale services.
• AI power user who enhances impact without replacing engineering judgment.
• Clear communicator capable of explaining tradeoffs to non-engineers.
• Aligned with core values: do the right thing, ship, and long-term impact.
• Willing to attend annual in-person global offsites.

Responsibilities

• Build new APIs and trading products from problem research to first version.
• Maintain and extend existing APIs, add support for new chains and features.
• Keep APIs fast and reliable as traffic grows and participate in on-call rotations.
• Investigate failed trades and stuck transfers using logs and on-chain data.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal and GTM to translate business needs into technical decisions.
• Write design documents and review teammate designs and PRs.
