Job summary

0x is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to expand the API Products team. You will lead projects from initial concept to production, shaping new products and maintaining live APIs. This is a hands-on IC role with ownership and remote work; EU time zones preferred.

The role requires 6+ years in backend engineering, deep on-chain knowledge (EVM), and strong system design. You’ll collaborate with product, legal, and GTM teams to deliver robust, scalable APIs for a global developer ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Senior or Lead Engineer with a track record of owning complex projects end to end.
• Built and maintained developer-facing APIs.
• Deep onchain knowledge, especially EVM, including calldata, interfaces, gas, approvals.
• Strong system design experience for production-scale services.
• AI power user who augments impact without replacing judgment.
• Clear communicator able to explain tradeoffs to non-engineers.
• Aligned with core values and willing to attend annual in-person team offsites globally.

Responsibilities

• Build new APIs and trading products from research to first version.
• Maintain and extend existing APIs including new chains and bridges.
• Keep APIs fast and reliable; participate in on-call rotations.
• Investigate failed trades and transfers using logs and on-chain data; resolve root causes.
• Collaborate with product, legal, and GTM to translate business needs into technical decisions.
• Write design documents and review teammates’ designs and PRs.
