Job summary

Novo Nordisk is seeking a Process Engineer for the Petersburg, VA site to support onboarding of new API manufacturing programs and serve as a technical resource for new chemical API process implementations.

You will lead engineering projects, develop design specifications, support scale-up, equipment qualification, and enforce GMP-oriented practices across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced pharmaceutical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Chemistry from an accredited university.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience including engineering processes, design and operations support.
• Knowledge of process utilities and equipment design and installation.
• Understanding of CFR, GEP, ASME BPE, ASTM E2500 and ISPE guidelines.
• Ability to lead external vendors and multi-project environments.
• Strong writing and communication skills; able to work independently with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support engineering projects from concept through start-up.
• Develop user requirements, process designs, equipment specs, procurement, commissioning and turnover for capital projects.
• Provide technical manufacturing and development support for day-to-day activities, scale-up and optimization.
• Support EHS activities including PHAs and PSSRs.
• Develop and review engineering documents, standards, SOPs, risk assessments and reports.
• Implement cost-effective engineering solutions for facilities and utilities.
