You will own API design, tooling, authentication, and observability, partnering with security and infrastructure to keep a fast, reliable, and HIPAA‑compliant service.

This role emphasizes mentoring engineers, elevating code quality, and shipping with cross‑team impact.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience, with focus on APIs
• Deep expertise in REST, GraphQL, or gRPC and distributed systems
• Strong production experience with Python, Go, Node, TypeScript, or Ruby on Rails on AWS
• Ability to design for AI agents and consumer APIs from day one
• Track record of leading cross-team projects and mentoring engineers
• Comfortable with on-call, incidents, and improving observability

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate APIs and services powering Nayya’s products and partner integrations
• Make API consumption easy for agents with clear schemas and strong guardrails
• Define agent-facing infrastructure, authentication, and auditing
• Own services end-to-end from architecture to deployment and on-call
• Improve developer experience for internal teams and external partners
• Set technical direction for API standards, versioning, and observability
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar on design reviews
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure to stay fast and HIPAA‑compliant
