Job summary

Edward Jones is seeking a Solution Engineer to shape the future of its API ecosystem. You will influence architectural direction, define platform standards, and solve complex engineering challenges across teams to deliver scalable, secure APIs at scale.

You will mentor engineers, drive observability, and partner with product and engineering leaders to advance the firm's API strategy in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering, solution architecture, platform engineering, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of architecting and delivering enterprise-scale API or distributed system solutions.
• Deep expertise in API lifecycle management, governance, and design (OpenAPI).
• Strong cloud-native, microservices, and API security experience (OAuth 2.0 / OIDC).
• Hands-on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and enterprise integration tech experience.
• Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical expert, providing architectural guidance for API and platform initiatives.
• Define API standards, governance practices, and architectural patterns for scalable solutions.
• Shape the technical roadmap to improve developer productivity, automation, and observability.
• Lead design and review of complex API/integration solutions aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, Architects, and stakeholders to accelerate delivery.
• Champion observability and reliability to reduce MTTR and MTTD for critical services.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to drive platform modernization and innovation.
• Mentor engineers and promote architectural excellence through reviews and knowledge sharing.
