Job summary

New York Life is seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to design and implement APIs, integration contracts, and data mappings to support the digital life insurance purchase experience. You will collaborate with product, UX, architecture, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs and clear interface specifications.

You will participate in Agile/SAFe ceremonies, contribute to API governance, and help drive continuous improvement across

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Experience designing and documenting APIs, integration contracts, technical specifications, and solution architectures.
Hands-on experience with Java, MuleSoft, Spring Boot, or comparable platforms.
Experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, messaging technologies, and integration patterns.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and document technical requirements for the digital purchase experience.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications and integration designs.
Develop, test, and maintain APIs and integrations using Java, MuleSoft, and related technologies.
Support production implementations, monitoring, and continuous improvements.
Maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
