Job summary

Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) in Yakima, WA, seeks a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to lead the university's payables function. This on-campus, full-time role manages invoices, payments, vendor setup, reimbursements, and month-end reconciliations with strong internal controls.

Responsibilities include processing EFT/ACH and checks, validating documentation, maintaining vendor data, and supporting process improvements while ensuring compliance with university policies

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing invoices and payments.
• Integrity and adherence to internal controls and policies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with vendors and internal teams.
• Solid reconciliation, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage end-to-end accounts payable processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable processing to ensure accurate, timely payments.
• Review invoices, POs, reimbursements for proper authorization and coding.
• Enter and maintain AP transactions in the financial system and period coding.
• Process EFT/ACH and check payment batches per schedules and controls.
• Maintain vendor records and respond to inquiries from vendors.
• Prepare AP accruals and journal entries for monthly close.
• Support audits and ongoing internal controls improvements.
