We are seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's finance team and take ownership of the end-to-end AP process, ensuring timely and accurate payments while identifying process improvement opportunities.

Overview Of The Role

• Lead and perform full-cycle accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor management.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of high-volume invoices (matching, batching, coding, and entering).
• Maintain strong vendor relationships; handle inquiries and resolve discrepancies. Assist in month-end close activities, including AP accruals and reconciliations.
• Support internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with procurement and other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Assist in onboarding and training junior AP staff or clerks, as applicable.
• Participate in audits and provide documentation as requested.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounts payable experience; at least 1-2 years in a senior or lead role preferred.
• Strong understanding of AP best practices, internal controls, and ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage500, Oracle, Concur, etc.).
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
