Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse, NY is seeking a full-time AP/CP Surgical Pathologist or Cytopathologist to join our expanding hospital-employed team.

The role offers mentorship from tenured colleagues, leadership opportunities, and a strong emphasis on collaboration within a high-volume setting. The candidate will handle a broad mix of cases including breast pathology, cytology, organ donation evaluations, and transfusion/blood bank support, with occasional neonatology and limited grossing.

Qualifications

• Board Certified/Board Eligible Pathologist.
• Completion of a Surgical Pathology and/or a Cytopathology Fellowship.
• NYS license (or eligible).
• Strong clinical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a broad range of pathology cases, including AP/CP and Cytology.
• Lead and mentor a team within a high-volume, hospital-employed setting.
• Participate in organ donation evaluations and transfusion/blood bank support.
• Engage in frozen section analysis and limited grossing as needed.
