Job summary

Amity Foundation is seeking a Supervising Counselor to lead and mentor AOD Counseling staff within its prison and re-entry programs. You will supervise a team, drive staff development, and ensure program integrity, including ARMS documentation and internship verification.

The role requires an AOD Counselor certification, leadership abilities, and strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple components of the program while maintaining participant confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years’ experience as a certified AOD Counselor (Counselor III or higher).
• DHCS-approved AOD Counselor certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise approximately six AOD Counseling/Peer Navigator staff.
• Evaluate staff performance with coaching and training.
• Monitor contractor staff performance and apply corrective measures as needed.
• Assess and monitor counseling staff progress towards AOD certification.
• Oversee orientation and intake for new participants.
• Approve and monitor relapse prevention/CBI action plans.
• Track participant data and program engagement.
• Train ARMS documentation and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate OMCP Mentors and support certification process.
• Verify internship hours and monthly records.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CDCHCS and contracted staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
