Sealing Technologies, a Parsons company, seeks a Senior Ansible Engineer to join our team delivering automated deployment solutions for DCO kits and hardened infrastructure. You will design and maintain complex playbooks, integrate with CI/CD, and collaborate across software and hardware domains.

The role emphasizes security by design, experience with Fedora-based Linux, networking gear, virtualization, and strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of automation and systems engineering experience.
• Expert proficiency in writing, testing, and maintaining Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules with deep understanding of Jinja2 and configuration management.
• Experience using Ansible Galaxy for reusable components and Ansible Vault for managing sensitive data.
• Experience automating physical hardware and network appliances (routers, firewalls) with Ansible.
• Strong analytical and debugging abilities to resolve complex issues within automation workflows.
• Hands-on experience with Fedora-based Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky, Oracle) including drivers, firmware, filesystems, networking and security.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash for custom modules and advanced automation.
• Experience with virtualization and container platforms (VMware, Kubernetes, Docker/Podman).
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and infrastructure security, hardening processes and best practices.
• Experience with network protocols and defense-in-depth.
• Understanding of security patching, authentication and log retention best practices.
• Experience with Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and Agile workflows (Jira).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; document and maintain engineering processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules to automate deployment of DCO kits.
• Collaborate with software teams to create parameterized Ansible that aligns the software product stack.
• Configure and automate physical hardware and network appliances using Ansible.
• Implement security controls including STIG hardening and SELinux within the automation pipeline.
• Implement CI/CD GitHub Action pipelines for extensive automatic testing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technology standards, security controls, and engineering practices are understood and applied.
• Partner with internal teams to deliver technical demonstrations and showcase SealingTech capabilities to customers.
• Identify and define high-level functional and technical requirements by working with user community and DoD enterprise architectures.
