Job summary

Symetra Investment Management is seeking an experienced reviewer to adjudicate annuity suitability and best-interest determinations. You will document findings and collaborate with financial professionals, internal partners, and distribution teams to ensure compliant, customer-centered decisions.

You will evaluate client profiles, investment objectives, risk tolerance, and product suitability while escalating complex cases as needed. A high level of accuracy and ethical judgment is essential.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in suitability review, insurance operations, or related fields.
• Working knowledge of suitability and best interest regulations and retirement products.
• FINRA licenses and/or insurance-related certifications are preferred or willing to obtain.
• Experience reviewing annuity transactions, transfers, and exchanges within a regulated environment.
• Ability to assess risk, make complex decisions, and maintain accuracy and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Review annuity sales, transfers, replacements, and exchanges for suitability and best interest.
• Analyze documented customer profiles, objectives, risk tolerance, and liquidity needs.
• Conduct independent suitability determinations and document findings per policy and law.
• Collaborate with financial professionals to obtain information and resolve questions.
• Interview applicants when needed to validate information and understanding.
• Escalate high-risk cases to senior reviewers for further evaluation.
• Partner with New Business, Sales, Compliance, and Operations to ensure timely processing.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls.
