Job summary

Fulton County Police Department seeks an experienced Animal Services Officer II to enforce animal-related laws, respond to dispatches, and ensure humane handling of animals throughout the county. The role involves field enforcement, investigations, and training new officers.

The incumbent will work with the shelter team, assist in public education on animal welfare, and participate in 24/7 on-call coverage. A path to lead a team and ensure compliance is available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; supplemented by three (3) years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Enforces animal-related laws or ordinances; captures animals; transports to shelter or vet; relocates wildlife; assists law enforcement.
• Responds to citizen complaints; investigates alleged violations; issues warnings and citations; conducts inspections for compliance.
• Conducts investigations; prepares reports and documents; testifies in court as needed; supports court matters.
