Gwinnett County Government is seeking an Animal Control Field Officer to support Special Operations and provide training to new field officers. Responsibilities include enforcing ordinances, capturing animals, and assisting with evidence collection and case building related to bites, rescues, and cruelty.

The position requires a high school diploma, several years of animal control experience, and a valid Georgia driver's license.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years of animal control enforcement experience.
• Valid Driver's License in state of residency.
• Asp Baton training.
• Crematory training.
• Euthanasia training.
• Pre-Exposure Rabies vaccine or current titer.
• State Inmate Supervisor training.
• Defensive Driving Certificate.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform duties.

Responsabilidades

• Investigating reported bite cases or cruelty and abandonment of domestic animals and livestock
• Disposing animal remains
• Answering calls and emails for service, animal abuse, rescue coordination, or reported bite cases and completing related documentation
• Monitoring and ensuring all animals are in good health (food, water, medication), and cages are disinfected and cleaned
• Ensuring inventory supplies are stocked and up to date
• Preparing daily records of euthanasia solution usage for the State Department of Agriculture
• Maintaining records such as officer training records, intake, veterinarian, medication, etc.
• Report writing, issuing citations, and handling fractious animals
• Serving as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction
• Assisting with maintaining training records of field officers
